Easy to use with short throw lens
Thanks to its short throw lens, this Optoma projector is ideal when space is tight. Even when positioned just over a metre from the wall, the Optoma produces a mighty 100” image, making the biggest pictures in the smallest rooms easy to achieve. Settle for a 65” image and you’ll get a crystal clear picture just 70cm from the wall – making this ideal for desktop projection.
’Lights on’ performance with class-leading brightness
Boasting an outstanding brightness figure of 4000 ANSI Lumens, the HD29HST not only offers bright and vivid colours but is also able to be used in many lighting conditions. Even during daylight conditions with curtains or blinds open, the Optoma produces a bright and detailed picture – thanks to its sensational brightness.
HDR enhanced picture quality
Compatible with HDR video, the HD29HST lets you see far more detail and texture. HDR enhances the brightest and darkest sections of scenes – letting you see detail in what was previously a solid block of colour. It also makes the rest of the colour spectrum appear more natural, giving an even greater sense of ‘being there’.
It’s not just movies and sports that look great on the big screen – gaming takes a massive step up, too. Switch the projector to Game mode and you get maximum contrast and vivid colour, bringing every detail to life. Enhanced gaming also reduces input lag, giving you lightning fast response times.
Rec.709 for picture brilliance
Colour precision, resolution, frame rate and display specifications are all guaranteed by meeting one of the highest HD video standards seen in professional-grade home cinema today: Rec. 709. Instigated by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), Rec.709 approval means a true cinema-like appearance.
Pin sharp, 1080p detail from Texas instrument's DLP chip
Using Texas Instrument's DLP technology, this Optoma offers crystal clear clarity, sharply defined images and true, natural colour. Even at larger screen sizes, the detail is astounding and would have once been the preserve of projectors costing many times more. In order to make the most of high definition video sources, the Optoma will also project 1080p Full HD images, making it the perfect match for your Blu-ray player or Full HD gaming device.
Impressive as the Optoma HD29HST is in 2D, it's only when you take advantage of the optional 3D system that the picture becomes truly immersive. Just add the optional Optoma 3D glasses system, connect up to a suitable source and enjoy 3D images that are every bit as bold as at the cinema. The optional glasses are also fully rechargeable.
HDMI with MHL
With twin HDMI (1 x HDR compatible) sockets, the Optoma is well equipped to handle your digital sources. The HDMI interface is also compatible with MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link). This lets you connect up a suitable smartphone or tablet to the HDMI socket and watch HD video, at up to 1080p Full HD, from your mobile device, on the big screen!
USB power to drive smart accessories
Featuring a handy USB power output, the HD29HST can be used to power USB-powered smart devices, such as the Google’s Chromecast, Roku or Amazon Fire TV. Plug Chromecast, or similar, in and you’ve easy access to smart video and TV services without the need for any other device or lengthy connection cables.
Expand your horizons, with the supersized images from this impressive Optoma projector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by benw1 from Very good picture Quality and size Bought this 2 weeks ago, use it as a cinema screen with the kids as it is so big and clear. We have it 2.5 metres from the wall a ceiling projector holder and get a huge 131" screen! It gives a great HD picture connected to Sky, the PS5 (not as good as a 4k TV) and playing the Switch (Mario Cart multiplayer is now amazing! Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ger1 from First projector My wife was sceptical about my purchase. I've never owned a projector before, so I took a lot of time researching what I wanted. Having a small living room and a small garden which I want to use the projector in, I decided on a short throw and above 3000 ANSI Lumens was the way forward. I didn't want to spend thousands of pounds on a projector as it wouldn't be used that often. So having researched for a couple of months decided to opt for the Optomax HD29HST which seemed to meet all my needs. I bought an 80" mobile screen to try it out in the living room (as I said earlier it's not a very big room) and decided to try it out in the daytime with no curtains drawn, the room has patio doors and another window so lot's of ambient light. This was not a problem for the projector even in eco mode. The projector is very easy to set up (as was the screen) it took about 10 minutes to set up. The menus are easy to follow. I plugged an amazon firestick into my soundbar HDMI and USB slot and then connected the soundbar to the projector via the HDMI out slot on the soundbar. The result was brilliant Picture quality is excellent The sound through the internal speakers isn't great but adequate depending on what we're watching but this is overcome by connecting the soundbar. The fan noise in eco mode is not noticeable and even in bright mode isn't that loud. As I said at the start my wife was sceptical at first but we spent the whole weekend watching movies on the projector and we both love it. For the price this is an amazing projector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fomojo66 from Super bright projector, great upgrade to GT1080 Excellent bright projector. Maybe even too bright in a pitch black room, certainly on full beam. Switch to Eco lamp though and it's not so blinding and the lamp will last much longer. This projector seems to just be the same as the EH412ST so not sure why it has a different name. You can see my full comparison to the GT1080 on Youtube, posted Nov 2020.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PSamuel from Outstanding Lovely picture, deep blacks considering price range, lightening fast lag for gaming and not bad HDR at all for a projector especially this cheap. Would definitely recommend
