Design Flaw
I have two Caspian M2 cd players, one Caspian M2 integrated amplifier, a Kandy cd player and Kandy integrated amplifier, so I am not averse to Roksan. But, within 24 hours of purchasing the M2 power amplifier, I have concluded that I need to explore how to return it to the shop.
The issue (and it is the only one, but certainly one that is a real frustration) is the automatic "standby" setting that the unit switches to if there is no (or very low) input. Another reviewer has already reviewed this in the context of using the amplifier in an AV set-up, where there may well be very quiet periods within the music. But I had not appreciated just how bad this was, when listening to any music source.
If you are prepared to miss the first nine seconds of the first cd that you attempt to play through the amplifier, then the Roksan Caspian M2 line amplifier provides excellent amplification. But, if you expect to play a cd and hear it from the beginning then, unless it is immediately following on from playing a previous cd, the only way to do so is to start the cd playing then, when the line amplifier wakes up (after nine seconds or so), stop the cd and restart it from the beginning.
I have never come across quite such a ridiculous design. A simple "standby" button on the fascia would have resulted in a five-star review.

Exceptional Power Amplifier
Already owned a Roksan Caspian setup so when it came time to acquire another power amp for my AV system there was only one way to go. The power and control are first class.
