Over Ear Closed Back Wireless Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Mic Headphones
£299
The latest and greatest
Honed to perfection, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless headphones are better than ever. With enhanced noise reduction and Sennheiser’s signature, premium sound, these wireless headphones compete with the very best. Battery life makes huge gains, catapulting the Momentum 4 Wireless’ to ‘best in class’. A sleek new style gives the headphones a timeless, minimalist appeal.
Momentous sound
Just as you’d expect from one of the finest brands in headphones, the Momentum 4 Wireless’ produce a well-balanced and full-bodied sound. Instead of favouring bass over other frequencies, you get a rhythmic, punchy bass response that blends seamlessly with a natural mid-range and smooth yet detailed treble performance. Put simply, you get to hear your music, just as the artist intended.
New, Adaptive Noise Cancellation
Sennheiser’s latest Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) system makes these headphones perfect for music on the move. Once activated, ANC monitors ambient sound levels and then blocks out background noise. This optimal noise cancellation system makes it much easier to hear your music when traveling or at busy stations and airports.
Transparency Mode for situational awareness
Ideal for when you’re at a station or airport and awaiting an important announcement, Transparency Mode lets you hear more, keeping you better in touch with the outside world. This mode is also recommended for when walking or running outside.
Smart Control App for personalised sound
You can personalise the sound to your own taste with Sennheiser’s Smart Control App. Available as a free download for iOS and Android, the app gives you access to sound equalisers – letting you tailor the sound precisely. The app also lets you configure settings for playback and noise isolation functions, making the earphones even more intuitive to use.
Top-tier battery life
With an incredibly battery life of up to 60 hours, the Momentum 4 Wireless headphones are amongst the very best in their class. Even more impressively, the 60 hours playback time is available with Bluetooth and ANC functions switched on and the headphones playing at around half volume. A full recharge takes just two hours, with four hours playback available after just five minutes charging.
Accessories supplied
Open the box and you’ll find the headphones arrive in a high quality carry case – ideal for protecting your headphones when not in use. There’s also a USB-C charging cable, wired connection cable and 2.5mm/3.5mm plus airplane adapter plugs.
Sleek new style
Available in black or white, the new style is cleaner and more minimalist than before. One aspect that has remained the same, however, is the enveloping comfort. Fitting around the ear, the headphones apply the ideal pressure, with soft padding making them comfortable to wear for hours at a time.
Hear your music to a higher standard, for longer, with the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless.

Brilliant sound, really great advice.
I've had these headphones for a couple of weeks and have used to listen to a wide range of music. Clarity really good, great volume range. Noise cancellation works well indoors and outdoors. Fantastic advice in the York branch.

Great sound, but inconsistent smart features
Firstly: if I was reviewing Richer Sounds, it would be a five star review, with a particular shout out to Thomasz and Hauke at the Edinburgh store for some amazing customer service.
But this is a review of the headphones, which is a bit more mixed.
On the positive side:
The sound quality is great – pretty neutral sounding rather than artificially boosted, and clear and detailed. I can happily listen to music and podcasts all day long on these cans. And colleagues in video calls have commented my voice sounds nice and clear.
And they felt instantly comfortable: nice and light, with a good level of clamping force, comfortable headband and ear pads. I can wear them for many hours without any discomfort.
The battery life is amazing – it’s almost ludicrous how little I need to charge them. I use them travelling to and from the office, and for hours while I’m in the office, and I think I probably don’t charge them more than once a week.
Also the hard carrying case is very good, doing a great job of protecting the headphones while travelling.
So there are definitely some very positive things going for the Momentum 4 – and if these are the most important aspects of a noise cancelling headphone then it could be a good match for you.
But unfortunately, for me, they also have some significant flaws.
The build quality is generally ok – and I have no objection to using plastic – but I often experience a plastic creaking sound when moving my head. It’s only in the right side and I guess this could vary between individual headphones, so your mileage may vary.
The touch controls are hit and miss for me. Sometimes it doesn’t seem to register my input, while other times I accidentally brush against the ear cup and something random will happen. If I try to change the volume I’m sometimes not really sure if it worked or not – and occasionally if I try to pause the music it’ll switch off the noise cancelling instead. I just don’t get on with the touch controls and dearly wish it had buttons instead.
Oh, and it makes blippy bleepy noises every time you do anything – and sometimes when you don’t. Some people appreciate this kind of feedback sound, but for me it’s irritating not to have the option to switch it off.
Bizarrely, I don’t seem to have any control over whether the headphones are switched on or off. I’ll explicitly turn them off using the sole button on the headphones, only for them to turn themselves back on again later. With such good battery life maybe this one isn’t as important, but it still feels a bit odd to me.
Sometimes they automatically turn themselves on when I put them on my head – and sometimes they don’t. And sometimes when I put them on, the noise cancelling has turned itself off for no apparent reason and I need to go into the mobile phone app to turn it back on again.
The auto play/stop feature doesn’t work very well for me, so I turned it off in the app. For instance, when I took them out of the case, the headphones would turn themselves on and start playing the last track I listened to.
I don’t think my pair is faulty – I just think the controls and ‘smart’ features have been poorly implemented.
The active noise cancelling performance is reasonable. The negative part is that they don’t seem to cope well with wind when worn outside – I frequently experience traffic noise coming and going when there’s some wind. They’re generally fine in the office though.
I can find these frustrating headphones to use. I would have sacrificed a little sound quality for better usability.
I feel sennheiser has overengineered the Momentum 4, when I think they would have been better removing some of the ‘smart’ features, getting rid of the touch controls and focusing on getting the basics really solid.

Comfortable Momentums at last
I bought these in November 2022 but didn’t open them until Christmas. It became apparent that the noise cancelling wasn’t working in the left headphone. I returned them to RS and they replaced them without hassle. Thanks RS, I’d expect nothing less from my years of dealing with you.
Then new ones work better although I’m not convinced the NC is as good as my old Momemtum 3s.
Sonically I also prefer the M3s although the M4s are better than the latest Sony offering that I auditioned, in my opinion. The Sonys had much better NC though but ultimately sound conquers all for me.
Why did I buy the M4s of the M3s were better you may ask. Well, the M3s sounded great but we’re so uncomfortable that they were useless for any extended listening, on planes for example. They were also not very well designed for transporting and the fabric case is very poor.
The M4s improve things comfort wise, case wise and portability wise. The case is now hard and very well designed with all cables neatly secured and the phones themselves fold nicely. The case is quite large but I don’t mind that.
Battery wise, 60 hours between charges is very impressive and I like that.
Overall I’d recommend these headphones but they aren’t perfect.

Great sound, great battery life
Bought based on good reviews I'd seen online and it didn't disappoint. Sound quality is excellent, and it works both wirelessly over bluetooth and also wired over either USB or 3.5mm jack. Highly recommended for anyone wanted a general purpose pair of headphones for commuting and also office calls.

Great sound
I compared these with the B&W Px8 (twice the price at the time) and the Sony XM5 (same price) and preferred these. I thought the sound was just more coherent - I though the Px8 by comparison sounded somewhat veiled and muddy, and the Sonys a bit boomy. Both the other headphones have their fans but I've been using these now for a while and no regrets. These have way better battery life too, and any difference in noise cancellation between the sets is more about nuance than a leap in quality.
