Hand built in the UK, the Chord Company Clearway X has an impressive heritage that includes a string of award-winners. Evolved over time, this cable has further enhanced insulation and plugs, promoting more musical detail and lower distortion.
Improved by the X factor
Replacing the FEP insulation with high performance XLPE (Cross Linked Polyethylene) improves the performance of this already impressive cable. As used in their high-end Signature XL cable, XLPE outperformed other materials in listening tests. Superior insulation reduces interference, giving a smoother, more natural sound with enhanced detail.
ARAY geometry for high quality shielding
Another reason for the Clearway X’s exceptionally transparent sound quality is the high quality shielding. Featuring Chord Company’s enhanced ARAY geometry, coupled with upgraded conductors over the C-Line model, you get extremely low levels of distortion, letting you hear more of the music’s detail. A clear protective PVC jacket is also applied, which again serves to further reduce any mechanically induced noise.
Top quality VEE3 ChorAlloy plugs
The Clearway X Analogue RCA cables are fitted with the latest version of the Chord Company’s VEE3 plugs. These use the next generation of plating technology – ChorAlloy. This uses a multi-metal plating process to give the optimum combination of conductivity and durability. This means that you get the most musical detail, over the longest period of time possible.

Amazing sound
As ever, I got an amazing price-beat deal from Richer Sounds in Kingston. The sound produced with this cable is smooth and dymamic and I can definitely hear the improvement in my new system (Arcam A5 and CD5) compared to my cheaper older cable. Highly recommended if your budget can stretch to this
