Take it to the next level with other Denon Home speakers
The Home Sound Bar 550 makes the perfect starting point for an even more impressive surround sound speaker system. For a more powerful bass, just add the Denon DSW-1H wireless subwoofer. Even more immersive sound is achieved by adding Denon Home 150, 250 or 350 speakers at the rear.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I bought this 3 weeks ago. Over the moon with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound from a small unit I bought this after a lot of research as I needed a soundbar that fitted into a small shelf unit on our tv stand . At 60cm long this was perfect and with the app for the phone installed made set up a breeze . Had a small amount of lip sync issues to start with whilst using my LG tv but sorted it out via the tv settings . Sound is great , detailed and the Dolby atmos although not true 100% atmos, works very very well . For the money I think you will find it hard to buy a better unit . Now saving up for the sub woofer to make the experience even better

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Piece of Kit, but..... Had this for 3 weeks or so. I found it easy to set up and to be honest the HEOS app isn't that bad. Setting up was easy but it did do a huge update at the end which took about 30 mins on a 54 meg line. Having had 5.1 systems I had lower expectations but it is excellent. I have it wall mounted and the base was very punchy, not as low as a subwoofer but not bad at all. The surround and Dolby Atmos effects are excellent and had my partner thinking what she could hear was outside. Very good with music too. The fly in the ointment is the lack of a promised firmware update from Denon. This was supposed to come in the spring and activate Alexa and allow surround sound pairing with the Denon sub and Home rears. Current thinking is the update will not come this year. SO if you want full surround avoid this unless you know the update has happened. I bought knowing this, but I would have bought a sub and 2x Denon Home 150s at the same time if the update was through. It's a great bar with very poor support from Denon so far. What should be 5* plus is therefore getting only 4* and 3* for value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clear sound, Nice model ! Despite the relatively small size, it produces a great sound. the sound is especially clear. I miss the bass a bit but despite that it gives a good sound. easy to set up with the heos app and here you can also choose different options for the sound. The design is also neat, so I think the price and quality is fine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific sound Called up and Bob at Romford recommended this. Reviews online had been mixed but decided to take the recommendation. Glad I did. Handles anything you throw at it in terms of soundtracks. Tried 5.1 and Atmos. All handled really well, sound effects spread out nicely. Of course adding rears etc would have it pinging around the room but updates should add that. Reviews online said there was a lack of bass. Can't say I agree, as the app set up the bar as on a stand and the bass seems to rumble along very satisfactorily. I did have a samsung bar that I suppose made a deeper rumble with its separate subwoofer for the ten minutes it connected to the bar, but this has a more refined sound plus a depth to the bass that belies the sound of the bar. Musically I thought it excelled. You can plug in an external hard drive with content on to play flac files and the like. This worked like a dream and was as close to stereo as I could imagine a soundbar going. It links to spotify effectively. I turned the treble down 1, as it was a little bright, with the heos equaliser and it was perfect. Excellent product, deals with anything. Sounds great. Thanks Bob

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small footprint, great sound I'm using the Denon Home Soundbar 550 for about a month now and I want to share some of findings. I like to small size of this Sound Bar. Very good sound however you need to install it close to the TV. I put it on a small table about 15 inch under my TV. The sound is not coming from my TV but from below and that was rather strange in the beginning. Now I'm more used to it. I tried two connections, optical and HDMI Arc. I prefer the lather one because then you can control the volume using the TV remote. Setting it up using the Heos app is doable but you really need to read the manual and follow the steps correctly otherwise you might end up with a wrongly setup of the Denon remote. I got the volume up and down reversed. Changing this afterwards was easy. Using Spotify was very easy. I could even start music at home when I was away. This happened by accident and my wife called if I started some music. She was startled when suddenly music started. Overall a very nice Sound Bar with very good sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features, great sound! At first I was a bit sceptical about this sound bar. I couldn't fathom the idea of such a small single speaker (with integrated amp nonetheless!) replacing a receiver and 5.1 speaker setup. But that's what Denon promised, and it certainly is what they delivered! Even at higher volumes, the sound is rich and full, but never shrill or boomy. The Heos app (which is a bit cumbersome to work with, but you learn to live with it) incorporates sound adjustment (bass and treble sliders, among others), but I never felt the need to adjust those. Set-up and configuration is easy, once you get the hang of the Heos app. The only (minor) inconvenience is that there is no on screen display, so when you adjust the volume, there's no slider visible on the TV. But the advantages and sound quality far outweigh this. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend this unit, and my wife does, too, mainly because of the lack of wiring and speakers throughout the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sound and easy to use It's an awesome thing to be able to walk into the house, turn on the bluetooth, and straight up blast the track you want to hear or the podcast you want to listen to. This thing is easy and straightforward to use: it's plug and play using either the HEOS app (which I don't really like or care for but it works), bluetooth, AUX cable for the old-fashioned hillbillies among us (like me and my TV), HDMI, or optical cable. Haven't tried out the USB port yet, which you can apparently also use to play music or other media. I like the simple and sleek design, it does not need a huge amount of space, but I would wish that the blue light goes off after the thing has been inactive for a while. I do like that the light changes colour depending on what you are trying to do (raising the volume, connecting via bluetooth, etc.). The touchscreen on the soundbar to control the volume is also nice, as it only lights up when you are near the thing itself. The sound quality is quite amazing for how large the thing actually is, and watching a movie is for sure a different kind of experience with this thing blasting the sound. Even though my TV did not have the optical cable input, I can use either HDMI or an AUX cable to set everything up and it works like a charm. The sound stays clear also at high volumes/songs with a lot of bass. As I mentioned above, I am not the biggest fan of the app, mainly because in the little booklet they ask you to start by installing it, while you can perfectly well do without. Then there is the weird thing that it needs your location to be able to connect to the WiFI, which just sounds very unnecessary and is therefore annoying. To conclude, a fabulous thing to have when you appreciate some music and a homecinema-ish experience. It might be a bitt on the expensive side if I compare it to other soundbars of comparable quality, but then again, I haven’t actually bought another one, so I don’t know.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound, design and material used The soundbar when openened is really small, when I'm comparing to other soundbars. The built and materials are very good what you can expect when buying a relative expensive product like this. It's really plug and play and easy to do. So the sound: really good mids and high. Like in a studio. The bass on the other hand is good, but not that good. Offcourse you can connect via Hios an external sunwoofer. Unfortunately I didn't had the change to do that. When listing to regular radio music hits, like rock or house music, the sound and bass is very good. But when listing to more bassy music genres like dupstep or hardstyle, the bass doesn't come to its right like it should be. But like I said before when purchasing an external sunwoofer. The "problem" would be gone. Further great TV and movie soundbar. Great machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really amazing This is really the best product I have ever tested. Now that I have tried it, I don't know how the speaker of the television will ever be sufficient again. It feels like I am in the movie theaters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use with a good sound. I was looking for a soundbar for quite a while. I own a Sony Dolby digital 5.1 home cinema set. I bought it somewhere in 2008. I still think that it’s a great Home cinema set, but it’s lacking the online features we are all using. I also had the DVD player/recorder attached to it so my kids could sometimes watch a DVD or my wife sometimes wants to watch a concert on DVD. My wife and kids are one of the reasons I was looking for a soundbar. Personally I can live with always having to choose the correct input before you start hearing something. But having many inputs can be very confusing. The result is that none of them are using the home cinema set if I’m not around. Simplicity or ease of use was one of the spearheads. Then the Denon Home soundbar came on our path. When I received the soundbar I really doubted that this one would work for us. It seemed a little bit small. I’ve read the specifications, but it felt like something was missing. I’m used to receive huge boxes, even when it has something small in it. The soundbar isn’t that big but that is exactly what we expected. The reason that the box it was in felt small was because besides the soundbar there isn’t much other stuff that is in it. That being said all that you need is there. There is a remote with an CR2025 battery. You get a HDMI cable as well as an s/pdif cable. And a manual. The manual is brilliant. I never read the manual, but this time I did. It’s a very small manual. It tells you to hook it up to your wired network and put the powerplug in it. That’s all the manual says. Off course I also used the HDMI cable to connect the soundbar with my SmartTV. That was all what the installation is about. It worked right away. From now on, my tv automatically uses the soundbar. No need to configure something it just worked. A big plus for the soundbar. Then the next morning. My wife opened up Spotify and started streaming to the soundbar without any problem. That was something that I was looking for. Ease of use. Soon after that my children also knew how to stream music to the device. Marvellous!! So, the soundbar is intuitive, but what about the quality of sound? Well, that depends who you are asking. For us this is just what we expected. The sound is very clear with a reasonable amount of bass in it. If you turn up the volume the quality is still very good. So I can recommend this one to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good working speaker but quite expensive Its a good speaker. But the only downside to it is the price. The speaker works pretty good and has very good sound. I also really like the bass option which comes on the remote to control a lot of things. Another thing I like less is the HEOS app which isn't very user friendly. However its also just easy to use with only spotify and you can easily connect it with your phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good sound from a compact soundbar Brilliant sound, very easy to set up, HEOS app gives access to internet radio, Spotify and Apple Music.
