Small but mighty
At around 250mm in each direction, the KEF KC62 certainly qualifies as a compact sub. Using twin drivers in Uni-Core Force Cancellation configuration and powered by a 1000 watt amp, however, the bass performance is never anything less than mighty.
Uni-Core Force Cancellation delivers the power, without the bulk
Instead of using a large woofer, which inevitably leads to a larger cabinet, the KC62 is fitted with twin drivers, fitted back-to-back. KEF’s ingenious version of force cancelling uses a single magnet and concentric voice coils (Uni-Core), to deliver a mighty punch while reducing cabinet volume by over a third.
The power to impress
With 500 watts of Class-D amplifier power available to each woofer, the KC62 produces a mighty 1000 watts in total. This huge swell of power means that the bass isn’t just deep and loud enough but also kept under tight control, for maximum dynamic attack.
P-Flex surround for a smooth, even response
The KC62 is fitted with KEF’s P-Flex surround that’s designed to reduce cone movement resistance – especially at lower volume levels. This means you get a seamless response, without the ‘lumpy’ bass that can afflict lesser subs.
Smart Distortion Control
Using a powerful, bespoke DSP (Digital Signal Processor), the KC62 constantly analyses the signal for overloading, with SmartLimiter stepping in if needed to reduce distortion. Added to this, Smart Distortion Control technology uses current measurements to detect and correct any potential distortion. This reduces THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) by up to 75%, giving you a much purer bass response.
Adjusts to suit your room
As well as the usual volume, crossover and phase controls, the KC62 also features an EQ mode – giving you the best possible sound in your room. Choose between ‘Room’, ‘Wall’, ‘Corner’, ‘Cabinet’ and ‘Apartment’ settings for optimised sound in any setting.

Sounds great at my friend's flat but not in mine
I loved the sound of this sub when I heard it at a friend's house paired with the LS50 Wireless speakers. I have the LS50 Wireless II's so felt it a natural pair after enjoying the main speakers for over a year now. However I felt the sub was too boomy in my room, and had to turn the sub down to such a low level it was barely being worked and therefore felt overkill. Richer Sounds have been great throughout the process with advice and after sales support though I've returned this one and will need to rethink if I want to add more low-end to my setup

Excellent addition to LS50 Wireless II Speakers
I had thought for a while about buying the KC62 as an addition to the already good performing KEF LS50 W II active speakers I purchased a few weeks ago.
With expected price rises affecting all walks of life, I decided to jump sooner rather than later.
And have not been disappointed at all.
A bit pricey, maybe, but this genuinely adds performance value to the LS50 W II that I have, more detailed, wider, taller & deeper sound stage. The 70Hz high pass filter option on the KEF Connect App' when used with the LS50 W II takes some of the workload away from the LS50's Mid/Bass driver, allowing them to be better used in the Mid range.
I have a Tidal Hi-Fi subscription, lossless digital and into hires digital sound superb with 'Tidal Connect' functionality & MQA decoding & rendering built into LS50 W II's allowing direct streaming of audio digital to speakers, whilst allowing full control on smartphone via Tidal and KEF Connect.
Genuinely listening and hearing a whole new world of audio when listening to music from times gone by.

Amazing Small Sub!
I know this woofer has a steep price but it is an excellent match for LS50 Meta. It takes very little space and it complements LS50 perfectly. Very potent for small to mid-sized rooms. It has a very solid build and also looks amazing. Definitely recommended!
