Precise sound location through pivoting IDC module
For the most accurate sound, your listening position ideally needs to be in-line with the treble and mid-range units. Without this, some of the precison is lost. Thanks to its pivoting IDC module, containing both the treble and mid-range unit, the W380-IDC is ideally equipped. Simply direct the module towards where you're most likely to be in the room. High frequency, level and boundary compensation adjustment further help in refining the sound of this quality ceiling speaker.
Powerful sound with RST bass
The 8" bass cone features distinctive RST (Rigid Surface Technology). Inspired by the Japanese art of Origami, the lightweight cone is made more rigid by the precise pattern of surface dimples. It makes the bass and mid-range natural-sounding and effortlessly flowing.
3-way sound
Within its stylish design, the W380-IDC manages to fit a genuine 3-way speaker design. By having separate drive units for the bass, mid-range and treble, each element of the sound can be accurately reproduced. Voices in particular have superior clarity and realism.
Top quality sound
Using Monitor Audio's C-CAM gold treble unit and, C-CAM RST inverted mid-range and C-CAM RST bass driver, the W380IDC offers top-rate hi-fi sound quality. The C-CAM (Ceramic Coated Aluminium Magnesium) gold treble unit gives an extended frequency response that now stretches to 30 kHz, well above the audible spectrum. This means lower notes that we can hear aren't compressed downwards or harmonically compromised for a treble response that's smooth, sweet and detailed. With a bass that drops to 45Hz, the W380-IDC easily matches decent quality stand mount speakers for range.
Discreet, low profile design
Sleek and flush mounting, the W380-IDC is a highly discreet wall speaker. The unique 6 position Tri-Grip fixing system is not only easy to install but also offers a superior fit, compared to conventional clamping systems. The W380-IDC grille is finished in neutral off-white but also able to be painted in your choice of colour. A magnetically attached, removable grille is also included.
